Wednesday: Kitchen Lab: Set the Table

Lucy the Ladybug carries a stack of napkins. "A feast needs a table for everyone," she says.

Bennie puts all the forks in one pile. "Done!" he says.

"What do you notice about each seat?" Lucy asks gently. "Does everyone have one?"

Riley lines up a plate, a cup and a fork. "Here is a hint," he says. "One set per seat."

Your mission

Set a place for every person at the feast.

Count what you need first. Then take turns setting each place.

Lucy says sharing jobs makes everyone feel part of the feast.

  • Plates, cups, spoons and forks for each person
  • A napkin for each person
  • A pitcher of water for the table
  • A pencil and paper
  • A grown-up helper

  3. Take turns with a family member. One person sets a plate, the next sets a cup.
  4. Put the water pitcher in the middle of the table.
