Family Cook Day: Frozen Fruit Pops

It is a warm day on the trail. The crew dreams of something cold.

"Let's make fruit pops," says Ferris. "What do you notice about our fruit colors?"

Lucy the Ladybug lines up six paper cups. "One for each friend," she says.

Riley hands out craft sticks. "Here is a hint," he says. "Cold makes them hard."

  1. Germs grow fast between 40 and 140 degrees F, the Danger Zone.
  2. A fridge is 40 degrees F or colder. A freezer is 0 degrees F or colder.
  3. Thaw frozen food in the fridge, not on the counter.
  4. A kitchen scale measures in grams.
  5. Heat and cold both change food.
