Sky Night

Sky Night: your own plan
// Eclipse safety and your year of sky watching

Sky Night: Your own plan

Tonight, you are the leader.

Rocket carries the blanket. Raven carries the logs.

"What do you notice first?" Raven asks.

Nova glows red. "Hint: follow your plan, one step at a time."

  1. Never look at the Sun, even in an eclipse.
  2. A lunar eclipse is safe to watch with your eyes.
  3. Plan with the season, the Moon and the weather.
  4. Every season has its own sky.
Safety first
Go outside only with a grown-up.
Stay near home in a safe, open spot.
Use a red light, not a white one.
Watch your step in the dark.

Your Sky Night mission

  1. Read your plan out loud to your grown-up.
  2. Go to your safe spot after dark.
  3. Let your eyes adjust for about half an hour.
  4. Find each target on your plan.
  5. Fill in your log.
