Raven's toy bear sits in the hot sun.

Rocket says, "Let's build it a shade!"

Nova asks, "What will block the light?"

  1. Shade is where sunlight is blocked.
  2. Shade keeps things cooler.
  3. Cardboard blocks light. Clear wrap does not.
  4. People build and plant shade.
◇ BUILD A TOY SHADE
Pick a small toy.
Gather boxes, paper, cloth and blocks.
Build a shade over the toy.
Set it in the sun. Check it later.
