Wednesday: Sun and shade cups

Rocket fills two cups with cool water.

Raven asks, "Will they stay the same?"

Nova says, "Let's investigate!"

You will need

  • Two cups that are the same
  • Cool water from the tap
  • A sunny spot
  • A shady spot
Safety first
Never look right at the Sun.
Do not drink the test water.
A grown-up helps carry the cups.

What to do

  1. Fill both cups with the same water.
  2. Put one cup in a sunny spot.
  3. Put one cup in a shady spot.
  4. Wait one hour.
  5. Dip one finger in each cup.
