Launch Lab: Energy saver team

Rocket walks into the den. The TV is on, but nobody is watching. Two lamps glow in an empty room.

"This energy is just leaking away," he says.

Raven grabs a notepad. "Let's be an energy saver team. What do you notice that is on but not needed?"

Nova blinks her lights off, then on. "My hint," she says. "Every bit of energy we save means fewer resources used."

  1. Energy and fuels come from natural resources.
  2. Renewable resources, like sun, wind and moving water, are replaced by nature.
  3. Fossil fuels formed over millions of years, so they are nonrenewable.
  4. Every energy source affects the environment in some way.
  5. The Sun is the original source of nearly all the energy we use.
