Launch Lab: Plant results

A week has passed. The crew opens the dark closet.

Rocket gasps. "The dark plant looks different!"

Raven compares the two plants. "What do you notice?"

Nova hovers. "Hint: what was the only thing we changed?"

"The light!" Rocket says.

  1. Plants need light, water, air and room to grow.
  2. Roots take in water for most plants.
  3. Plants use sunlight, water and air to make food.
  4. A fair test changes only one thing.
◇ FAMILY PLANT RESULTS
Put both plants side by side.
Compare their color.
Compare their stems.
Move the dark plant back into the light.
Water it and watch it for another week.
Safety first
Wash hands after touching soil.
Never eat plant parts.
