Oops! Rocket spills a cup of water on the kitchen floor.

"No problem," Raven says. "This is a test!"

She holds up a paper towel, a cloth and some foil.

Nova hovers. "Hint: which one is absorbent? What do you notice?"

  1. Different jobs need different properties.
  2. Waterproof keeps water out. Absorbent soaks it up.
  3. A fair test changes only one thing.
◇ FAMILY SPILL RESCUE
Pour one spoon of water on a tray three times.
Wipe one puddle with a paper towel.
Wipe one with a cloth.
Try to wipe one with foil.
Which one picked up the most water?
