Monday: Sticky burrs

Raven comes back from a walk. Burrs cover her socks!

Rocket tries to brush them off. They hang on.

Nova zooms in. "Look at the tiny hooks!"

An idea from a plant

Long ago, a man took his dog for a walk.

Burrs stuck to his pants and to his dog’s fur.

He looked at a burr very closely.

It was covered in thousands of tiny hooks.

The hooks grabbed the little loops in his clothes.

He used that idea to make a new fastener.

One strip has tiny hooks. The other strip has loops.
