Crew Quest

// True, false, AND/OR

Crew Quest: TRUE/FALSE Bingo

Raven says five things about her day. "One of them is false," she says with a grin.

Rocket listens closely. "You climbed a mountain before breakfast?" he asks. "False!" Raven says, and they both laugh.

Nova spins happily. "Great discovery!" she says. Now you make five statements. Let's see if you can stump a friend.

Make 5 statements about your day. Mark T or F.

Show a friend; they have to guess which 1 is FALSE.

1. ____________________________________ β†’ T / F
2. ____________________________________ β†’ T / F
3. ____________________________________ β†’ T / F
4. ____________________________________ β†’ T / F
5. ____________________________________ β†’ T / F

Now combine them

Pick TWO of your TRUE statements. Write them with AND. Still TRUE?

(______________________) AND (______________________) β†’ T / F

β˜… Star for stumping a friend. β˜…β˜… Stars for stumping a grown-up.

Week 9 Recap

  1. BOOLEAN values are TRUE or FALSE only.
  2. AND β†’ both true. OR β†’ at least one true. NOT β†’ flip.
  3. Truth tables show every combo.
Try This Without Paper
1. Make a 'screen time' rule using AND. Test it tomorrow.
2. Spot a sign with a NOT in it (No Parking).
3. Play 'Two Truths and a Lie'; that's just three Booleans.
β—‡ TWO TRUTHS AND A RULE
Each person says three facts about the room. One fact is FALSE.
Everyone else guesses which one is FALSE.
Then join two facts with AND, and two facts with OR.
Decide together: is each joined sentence TRUE or FALSE?
WEEK 9 REVIEW
  • Read the question.
  • Tap your answer.
What is a Boolean?
TRUE AND TRUE is what?
FALSE OR TRUE is what?
NOT (TRUE AND FALSE) is what?
StatementTrue or false?
AND needs both parts to be TRUE.?
OR needs at least one part to be TRUE.?
NOT flips TRUE to FALSE.?
FALSE AND TRUE is TRUE.?
WHY THIS EXERCISEComputers use Boolean logic to make decisions.
