Nova floats above the towers. "I will time each one for ten seconds."
Who can build tall and steady?
Constraints are the rules and limits of a challenge.
Shape matters: a tube stands better than a flat sheet.
A wider base helps a tall tower stay stable.
Change one thing, then test again.
β FAMILY PAPER TOWER BUILD-OFF
Each team gets 10 sheets and one arm of tape. Plan for two minutes. Build for ten minutes. Let go and count to ten. Measure every tower that stands.
For a grown-up
Help measure tall towers with a ruler, one length at a time. Ask each builder: what did you do to the base? Cheer for towers that fall too. They teach the most.
Safety first
Build on the floor. Nobody climbs to reach the top.
